A Unique and Uncompromising Musical Project

Gdańsk Necropolitan Orchestra is a highly distinctive, two-person project that defies easy genre classification. Our music exists at the crossroads of yass, experimental music, free jazz, and contemporary composition, forging a sound that is both unconventional and deeply expressive.
A rare duo of trumpet and double bass, we explore the full spectrum of sonic possibilities that emerge from the dialogue between these two instruments. Through our improvisations, we aim to convey raw, powerful emotions—born from deep reflection on themes that are challenging yet, in our view, profoundly important: the sense of alienation in a complex modern world, the struggle to find one’s place in mass culture, and the daily existence in a reality devoid of true artistic expression.
As a result, the emotions we communicate are steeped in fear, despair, and a near-fatalistic lack of hope for meaningful change. Our music is an unfiltered response to a world that often feels disorienting and indifferent, inviting listeners to confront these emotions in their purest form.
